One, two, three, four... I declare a thumb war...

Have I mentioned I love free stuff? I'm pretty sure I may have mentioned this. I spent a good portion of 2001 signing up for free things on the internet... with mixed results as you can imagine. And now I just sound scabby, cheap and kind of creepy...
Anyway... if you head over to The Small Object, you'll see a whole section of fun, free printables just for you. You can choose from book plates, recipes cards and my all time favourite... thumb wrestling championship belts!
I'm not sure about you, but all disagreements in my life are settled via thumb wrestling or scissors!paper!rock! so this is right up my alley... and probably in vogue with everyone aged 10 and under. I particularly like that the loser gets the prettiest belt... no guessing why!
I'm hearting these cheery recipe cards too...

Trick or treat

So Halloween isn't really celebrated here in Australia (particularly not in my house - Mum says its far too American... like the word cookies) but every year I still get a twinge of excitement and sit around watching Halloween movies on the Disney channel or episodes of Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Home Improvement (Tim the Tool-Man Taylor always had THE best Halloween house). I mean really... why are we resisting this amazing holiday full of spooky costumes and sugar?!
But never fear - I live my life vicariously through my home-girl Martha Stewart and nobody does Halloween quite like Martha. Check out what cute things she's brewing up this Halloween!
How creepy is her laboratory cocktail bar! And I love the creepy faces on those pumpkin lolly jars. The woman is a genius.

And finally, because no Halloween could be complete without Martha holding a glittering skull...

All photos are from Martha Stewart. Check out her website - it is FULL of amazing things. Can you tell I really love Martha? Oh I do.

What's your flavour?

Just spotted this cute idea on Apartment Therapy. What do you think? Would you like a waffle cone posie? I'm thinking it's also more environmentally friendly than sheets of cellophane.

One day my prints will come...

How freaking cool is this make your own scarf kit from Prints Charming?!
The lazy part of me wants to buy this cute scarf ready-made... but the obsessively DIY side thinks is is a pretty great project for the up-coming long weekend.

So you're looking at a few hours of entertainment and a gorgeous and unqiue scarf with bragging rights (Oh this old thing? well actually.. I made it!), all just for $45? Sign me up!
