Home is wherever I'm with you...

My very lovely man friend (he hates me calling him that, hence why I continue to do so) has a not so secret crush on one Marieke Hardy, formally of the Triple J breakfast team. I'm surprisingly okay with it - if he's going to like someone other than myself, it may as well be someone with a lot of spunk (not that kind, no...), who is equal parts cute and feisty.

He currently resides in a shoebox somewhere in the inner west with the bleakest of walls. I'm a giant nag with a need for nesting, so I searched the internet for a cheapie way to inject some personality in a room that contains nothing but a single bed and milk crates. Success! Meet the Rasterbator (say that five times fast).

Because I'm too lazy to paraphrase... "The Rasterbator creates huge, rasterized images from any picture. Upload an image, print the resulting multi-page pdf file and assemble the pages into extremely cool looking poster up to 20 meters in size."
So while that terrible quality picture above might not look all that big, it's actually 16 A4 sheets of paper assembled together to make a creepy homage to Marieke.
Not convinced? Well... here is said man-friend taking the level of creepiness one step further. (And no I don't have his permission to post this... so expect to see a blank space here in a week when he finally gets around to reading my blog)

The worst bit? I only put this up two weeks ago...and now he is moving (to the land of $5 thai food, so it's not all bad). Who will adorn the walls of the new house? Only time will tell...

Today I discovered...

...that there are very cool, printable design goodies over at Creature Comforts. They're currently offering a free download each day up until Christmas so if you're stuck for some cute wrapping or tags, put your printer to work! I downloaded this blue present design, printed it on A3 at work and now I have super cute paper. For free! Oh and Happy Belated Birthday Matt!

...that tomato soup and two minute noodles do not a marriage make. This is poor-man's spaghetti in a can but in larger, undesirable quantities. What can I say? It's the end of the year and I'm cleaning out the food stocks from my desk.

...that the Polarize application on your iPhone gives even the most pedestrian photos indie cred. Love it!

Wow, a non Christmas themed post in December? Well I never...

One, two, three, four... I declare a thumb war...

Have I mentioned I love free stuff? I'm pretty sure I may have mentioned this. I spent a good portion of 2001 signing up for free things on the internet... with mixed results as you can imagine. And now I just sound scabby, cheap and kind of creepy...
Anyway... if you head over to The Small Object, you'll see a whole section of fun, free printables just for you. You can choose from book plates, recipes cards and my all time favourite... thumb wrestling championship belts!
I'm not sure about you, but all disagreements in my life are settled via thumb wrestling or scissors!paper!rock! so this is right up my alley... and probably in vogue with everyone aged 10 and under. I particularly like that the loser gets the prettiest belt... no guessing why!
I'm hearting these cheery recipe cards too...

Can't buy me love... but you can give me free tickets!

I have a mug on my desk that says "I love free stuff" and I really do.

So imagine my delight when mother dearest called and gave me a code to get tickets to a free movie. Thanks Ma!!

If you're interested in movies, and particularly disinterested in paying for it, I suggest you check out See Film First.
